Commis Chef Position

We have a wonderful opportunity for a number of talented commis chefs to join our culinary section at the new Artisan Food Store & Deli, The Gourmet Grocer based in Riverstick, Co. Cork

This position would ideally suit a culinary arts graduate who has an interest and passion in food with a few years of experience in a busy deli/pastry kitchen

This is the first of The Gourmet grocer stores with lots of potential to grow and develop as time progresses.


  • Good command of the English language.
  • Work well under pressure and as part of a team
  • Full knowledge of HACCP and its implementation (Full online refreshers training will be provided for anyone who needs it)
  • Carry out all Health & Safety, HACCP, and any other requirements that need to be adhered to in a commercial kitchen
  • Excellent attention to detail and an enthusiastic
  • Can-do attitude
  • Enjoy rising to the challenge
  • 2 years experience (ideal but not essential)
  • Maintaining a high level of standards throughout the Kitchen, including all aspects of Food preparation and Stock Control
  • Efficient operation of the kitchen to minimize waste
  • Knowledge of portion control and packaging of goods advantageous
  • Adherence to systems, recipes and roles in the kitchen
  • Enjoy working as a team member

Please Note:

Day shifts only, early morning starts on some days. No evening work and Sundays off every week with 2nd-day rotation.
